Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how CB Tech Services, LLC (d/b/a CamPilot.ai) ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the CamPilot.ai mobile application ("App") on Apple iOS or Android. It is written to be consistent with what we disclose in App Store Connect and Google Play Data Safety.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

§1. Data We Collect

Diagnostic logs do not contain your name, email, IP address, request bodies, audio, or any media content.

§2. How We Use Your Data

We use collected data to:

§3. On-Device Processing

The following features run entirely on your device and do not transmit data to our servers:

Facial expression detection. During shooting sessions, the App analyzes the camera feed on your device to detect facial geometry and emotional expression peaks. This is used to trigger automatic photo capture at the right moment. No facial data, geometry, or expression scores are stored or transmitted to our servers.

Audio event detection. During shooting sessions, the App listens for ambient sound events — such as singing, clapping, laughter, and cheering — to trigger the camera at celebratory moments. Audio is analyzed in real time on your device and immediately discarded. No audio data is stored or transmitted.

Camera preview and local capture. Photos captured and saved to your device photo library remain on your device. The App does not access, copy, or transmit photos from your library without your explicit action.

§4. Cloud Storage and Backend Services

What We Store in the Cloud

Uploaded Photos (Ephemeral)

When you use the Director's Cut feature, you explicitly upload photos for AI analysis. These photos are:

  1. Transmitted over an encrypted connection to our secure cloud infrastructure
  2. Processed by our AI systems to generate analysis and recommendations
  3. Permanently and automatically deleted from our servers once processing is complete and results are returned to your device

We do not retain uploaded photos for any purpose beyond the immediate processing task. We do not use your uploaded photos to train AI models.

Infrastructure and Region

Our backend infrastructure is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States. Apple and Google infrastructure is used for subscription and purchase validation on their respective platforms. ElevenLabs is used to generate text-to-speech audio for in-session coaching cues — only text prompts are sent, no personal user data is transmitted to ElevenLabs.

§5. Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with advertising networks or data brokers. We share data with third-party service providers only as necessary to operate the App:

We may also disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights or safety of users or the public. If CB Tech Services, LLC (d/b/a CamPilot.ai) is acquired, merged, or its assets are transferred, your information may be part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

§6. Tracking and Advertising

We do not use your data for cross-app tracking. We do not serve targeted advertising. We do not present the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt because we do not engage in cross-app tracking. We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS or GAID on Android).

§8. Your Rights and Controls

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export your data, or withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.

California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what data we collect, delete it, opt out of sale (we do not sell data), and receive non-discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights.

EEA / UK residents (GDPR): You have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

§9. Security

We protect your data using encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, access controls limited to operational necessity, privacy-safe logging (anonymized identifiers and error categories only), and ephemeral media handling (uploaded photos deleted immediately after processing). In the event of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

§10. Children

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will terminate that account and delete the data promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at privacy@campilot.ai. Users ages 13–17 may use the App with parental permission.

§11. International Data Transfers

CB Tech Services, LLC (d/b/a CamPilot.ai) is based in the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States, your personal data will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required by applicable law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers, including standard contractual clauses with our service providers.

§12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice within the App or sending an email to your account address. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
